Born and raised in Taiwan, Maggie moved to New York over a decade ago to pursue filmmaking. Her first short film, Dark Blue, was awarded the Best Cinematography Award at the Georgetown Independent Film Festival in 2002. Throughout the last 16 years she has directed, shot, produced and edited numerous film and video projects in the Broadcast and entertainment industry, as well as high-end fashion and music industry, and various high-profile corporate and commercial projects.
In 2015 Maggie received the Sports Emmy Award for her work at the MLB Network. In the last few years she has worked primarily in the broadcast industry as an editor and 2D/3D motion graphics designer, while working with Nonlinear Films ( ) and directed/edited various projects including short films and web series. Their latest project, directed and edited by Maggie Chan, titled "Minor Embarrassments," was screened at various film festivals in New York City and LA.
Maggie is currently working on various freelance projects, as well as pre-production for the upcoming web-series, "Shelter."
